Lunar Landing Simulation

Cílem této bakalářské práce je vypočítat a vizualizovat optimální sestupovou trajektorii lunárního modulu. Pro tento účel byla s pomocí 3D enginu Godot vytvořena aplikace, která vizualizuje sestupovou trajektorii a polohu lunárního modulu z datové sady. Naměřené souřadnice byly získány digitalizací grafů z letového plánu mise Apollo 11, který publikovala NASA. Následně byla vypočtena optimální trajektorie a tato porovnána s naměřenými historickými daty z přistání na Měsíci mise Apollo 11. S vytvořenou aplikací je možné interaktivně vizualizovat rozdíly mezi optimálními sestupovými trajektoriemi.

This bachelor's thesis focuses on media image of the Apollo 11 spaceflight to the Moon and back, including the days right before and after the event. In particular, it is about the image as it was depicted by a three contemporary Czechoslovak daily newspapers - Rudé právo, Mladá fronta and Svobodné slovo in the months of July and August of 1969. Among other things, the work examines whether forenamed newspapers distorted the facts or otherwise misinterpreted the reality that would denigrate the ideological enemy. In other words, whether they were ideologically biased. It is only logical given that the United States was in a state of high alert with the Soviet Union which had it's own cosmic programme. The chapters explaining the international situation, the role of the space program in the Cold War and the conditions of Czechoslovak media back then are part of the theoretical part. This work can serve as an addition to the previously known facts about the propaganda purposes of the Czechoslovak press during the culmination of the Cold War. Due to the detailed analysis of the material, it is possible to distinguish not only how but also the intensity of every specific newspapers about the event.

Apollo - the man on the Moon

The aim of this study is to outline circumstances and reasons which caused a birth of an ambitious plan which enabled the USA to land a man on the Moon and return him safely to the Earth. The impact of this thesis is to chart individual pilot expeditions also from the eyes of real participants. One part of this study is a chapter dealing with astronauts' preparation and training. The thesis also reminds the fact that among people who landed on the Moon was also the astronaut of the Czech origin, Eugene A. Cernan. In the end the study deal with technology that helped to include program Apollo among the greatest events of the 20th century.
